Pauls Valley Teen Arrested After Investigation Of Threatening Social Media Video

A Pauls Valley teen has been arrested after a threat was made to Pauls Valley Public Schools online over the weekend.

Pauls Valley High School administrators were made aware of a threatening Snapchat video Sunday morning. With the first day of school less than one day away, the threat has been addressed by police and precautions have been taken.

"Safety is everyone's responsibility," said Pauls Valley Superintendent Adam McPhail in a statement. "Open communication between parents and children creates a safe and informed environment."

According to a Facebook post from the Pauls Valley Police Department, the child responsible for the threat was cooperating with officers, had been processed and a charge for making threats with an incendiary device has been requested.

Investigators found the threat to be unsubstantial.

"The Pauls Valley Police Department did a tremendous job of addressing the situation," McPhail said. "All threats to our school are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly."

Pauls Valley says the first day of school will have added security, as a precaution.
