The roadway that intersected the railroad tracks where the Moore train derailment happened has now reopened, city officials said.

The City of Moore said Southwest 34th Street is now open, and the crossing as well as the railroad tracks in both directions have been repaired after the Aug. 18 derailment.

BNSF Railway, which operates the train, said 22 cars carrying plastic pellets derailed just before 5 p.m. BNSF said the cause was under investigation.

First responders said no one was hurt in the derailment and no evacuation was needed because only plastic spilled out of the cars.
