Through MAPS 4 funding, the Paycom Center is planning to go through several upgrades, according to the Oklahoma City Thunder organization.

The main focus of the upgrades: additional screens around the arena's interior.

A new circular center scoreboard, more than 24 feet tall and 125 feet around, is planned to be installed, as well additional 8-foot screens above and below the scoreboard.

Twelve additional screens will be added throughout the arena, bringing the total cost to around $7.5 million.

MAPS funding also went towards $14 million in new seating, plus $2.5 million for new elevator motors.

"Stay tuned, stay engaged, be ready to step up some time before the end of this year when we have to put this on the ballot," Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said. "We all need to jointly commit to continuing this city's momentum and its renaissance."

A proposal on the new arena is expected in the coming days.
