Oklahoma County Detention Center Detainee Injured In A Fight, Taken To Hospital

A detainee was hospitalized following a group fight, that may be gang related according to Oklahoma County Detention Center. 

Around 2:45 Tuesday afternoon, the detainee was assaulted by several detainees at the detention center.

The detainee was then separated from the altercation, and brought to the hospital via EMSA.

The other detainees were separated following the incident.

“Unfortunately fights between detainees happen in facilities all across the country,” said Brandi Garner, Oklahoma County Detention Center CEO. “Our staff did an excellent job in responding to end the fight and attend to the injured detainee. We will hold these detainees accountable for their actions.”

The investigation is ongoing, and the other detainees may be charged according to the OCDC.

The hospitalized detainee is being treated for multiple injuries.
