With the final Bedlam game of the Big 12 era coming up Saturday, the rivalry is enough to divide students and fans.

No one knows that better than the Gundy family.

In the first story of our Bedlam Memories series, Chris Williams talked with two generations of this football family and about where their loyalties lie.

You’d have a hard time finding a family with deeper ties to both sides of Bedlam than the Gundys.

Mike Gundy was the quarterback at Oklahoma State from 1986 to 1989. He’s spent 29 years on the coaching staff, the last 19 as the head man.

His younger brother, Cale, was OU through and through, setting numerous passing records in the early 1990s before later serving as an assistant coach for 23 seasons, creating a 'house divided' for their parents.

Living in Oklahoma City, the Gundys were University of Oklahoma fans until Mike shockingly decommitted from OU and took his talents to Stillwater.

Mike never beat Oklahoma during his playing career with the Cowboys, but he did have epic experiences playing alongside Barry Sanders and against Brian Bosworth, 'The Boz.'

Cale supported his brother at OSU, but his dad said he was dead set on playing at Owen Field from Day 1. With Cale in his freshman season here and Mike coaching in Stillwater, the 1990 Bedlam game marked the first head-to-head matchup between the brothers.

Cale and Mike would go on to square off in 26 Bedlam matchups.

With Cale no longer working for OU, you can expect Ray Gundy to be decked out in 'America’s Brightest Orange' when the teams meet in Stillwater Saturday.
