As the final Bedlam game approaches, legendary former coaches Barry Switzer (OU Head Coach 1973-1988) and Pat Jones (OSU Head Coach 1984-1994) recount how much the game meant to them.

"It was kind of important that we win that game," Switzer said. "For us, it was just personal."

Many of college football's best played in the Bedlam game. Switzer and Jones remember them well, including those now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

"Thurman Thomas has still got a bust in Canton," Jones said. "Barry Sanders has got a bust in Canton. A bust in Canton doesn't have any scores of this series on it."

"We're playing OSU in '76 and here comes this guy down the sidelines... right [by] me," Switzer said. "Well, that's Terry Miller isn't it?"

Both coaches expect the atmosphere at Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday to be loud and intense.

"There's a built-in electricity to the game anyway, but that electricity is a lot higher if both teams are good," Jones said.

The final Bedlam game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. in Stillwater.
