Oklahoma State fell to Abilene Christian, 64-59, in its season-opener on Monday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Bryce Thompson led the Cowboys in scoring, collecting 19 points on eight-of-15 shooting.
Making their Cowboy debuts, Mike Marsh added 13 points and nine rebounds, while freshman Connor Dow flashed his skill set from distance, leading the game with three three-point shots off the bench.
After trailing by as large as 16, the Cowboys whittled the deficit to one possession multiple times inside two-and-a-half minutes. In the final minute, they forced a pair of Wildcats turnovers to generate a potential game-tying three.
Seven players made their Cowboy debuts, with Eric Dailey Jr., Connor Dow, Mike Marsh, Justin McBride and Brandon Garrison making their college debuts, while transfers Jarius Hicklen and Mike Marsh logged their first appearance in Stillwater.
The Cowboys return to action at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. CT against Sam Houston.
