Okla. Dept. Of Wildlife Conservation Shares Advice For Peak Deer Hunting Season

A lot of people have been hunting since October 1st, but next weekend and the days that follow will be the busiest of the season. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's Colin Berg joined us Thursday morning with advice to help hunters get ready.

Oklahoma is hitting the peak season for deer hunting and the 16-day deer-gun season is just a little over a week away.

A lot of people have been hunting since October 1st, but next weekend and the days that follow will be the busiest of the season.

For those who don't have a place to hunt on private property, there are plenty of public land opportunities.

Public hunting in northeast Oklahoma:

  1. Cherokee PHA
  2. Copan WMA
  3. Deep Fork WMA
  4. Ft Gibson PHA
  5. Heyburn WMA
  6. Hulah WMA
  7. Keystone WMA
  8. Oologah WMA
  9. Skiatook WMA
  10. Sparrowhawk WMA
  11. Spavinaw WMA
  12. Tenkiller WMA
