Local Election Results Are In

School bond propositions in Hinton, Wetumpka, and Earlsboro failed to get the 60% "yes" votes needed to pass. A school bond in Minco also failed. Smaller bond issues for Jones and Friend schools passed. Moore voters passed a $49M+ bond to fund street and bridge repair. Garfield County voters approved a sales tax to fund rural fire departments. Voters in Wewoka approved 3 bond issues to fund public safety efforts.

Polls are open for special elections across Oklahoma.

*Note: School Bonds need 60% to pass.


FAILED - This did not get the 60% needed for a school bond to pass - HINTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROPOSITION – Hinton PS is asking voters to approve $32,310,000 in bonds for schools. This money would help build a new fieldhouse.

FAILED - MINCO PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROPOSITION – Minco PS is asking voters to approve $22,530,000 in bonds for schools. It would go to help build track and field and football faclities.

PASSED - CITY OF MOORE PROPOSITION – City of Moore is asking voters to approve $49,390,000 in bonds to help repair or build streets and bridges.

STORMIE HILL - CITY OF CLINTON COUNCILMAN WARD 3 – candidates are Stormie Hill and Patch McComas 


PASSED - GARFIELD COUNTY QUESTION – Garfield County is asking voters to approve a 1% sales tax to help fund rural fire departments. 


NICOLETTE HANER - CITY OF ELMORE CITY MAYOR – Danny Williams, Bobby Lee Snow, and Nicolette Haner are candidates  


PASSED - FRIEND PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROPOSITION – Friend PS is asking voters to approve $400,000 in bonds for schools.

FAILED - This did not get the 60% needed for a school bond to pass - WETUMKA PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROPOSITION – Wetumka PS is asking voters to approve a $1,900,000 for schools. 


PASSED - JONES PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROPOSITION – Jones PS asking voters to approve $750,000 in bonds for schools. This would fund land purchase for a new middle school, track field and security equipment.

PASSED - CITY OF MCCLOUD PROPOSITION – This proposition is a franchise agreement with OG&E 


FAILED - SULPHUR RECALL ELECTION - Whether to remove Alan McKay from Ward 1 Councilman position


FAILED - TOWN OF WANETTE PROPOSITION- This is asking voters if the Mayor can appoint position of clerk-treasurer - with board of trustees' approval.
