Description
A quick and easy holiday side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrots, peeled
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- Fresh flat leaf parsley, garnish
Instructions
- 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2: Place carrots in a 9x13 baking dish.
- 3: Using a spatula cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, salt, vanilla and cinnamon.
- 4: Whisk in the boiling water and orange juice.
- 5: Pour mixture over the carrots.
- 6: Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour or until fork tender.
- 7: Remove from the oven and place the carrots on a serving platter.
- 8: Spoon the warm butter sauce from the bottom of the baking pan over the top of the carrots. Garnish with parsley.
