Handgun Recovered From Student At Broken Arrow Freshman Academy

A gun was confiscated at a Broken Arrow school on Monday, police confirm.

Broken Arrow Police said officers responded to the freshman academy on a tip that a student had a weapon.

Security personnel found the student and retrieved a handgun before BAPD arrived on the scene, police said.

An investigation concluded that there was no intention to use the weapon at school, police said.

Broken Arrow Public Schools gave the weapon to BAPD.

Police said the juvenile student involved in the case is Native American and charges are pending through the Muscogee Creek Nation.
