The 500,000+ residential electric customers of Public Service Company of Oklahoma will get a refund on power bills for the next four months and a longer-term reduction in the fuel cost portion of the bill.

Electric rates are set by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, while the fuel cost is directly passed on to customers.

PSO plans to post refunds on the January through April 2024 bills, averaging $2.81 per month.

A fuel cost reduction will also take effect, with the average customer saving $15.53 per month, which will remain as long as natural gas prices remain steady.

PSO provides electric utility service primarily in and around Tulsa, McAlester and Lawton.

The refunds are part of an overall rate adjustment request from the utility that was decided by the Corporation Commission in November.
