A man is in the hospital on Sunday after police said he barricaded himself inside a home and opened fire at responding officers.
Bixby Police said officers were called to a home near 131st and Memorial around 5 a.m. after the suspect allegedly started shooting at his wife.
They said she got out safely and called police.
Police said when officers tried to get him out of the house, he started shooting.
The SWAT team was called in and nearby homes were evacuated as a safety precaution.
They said the standoff ended around 8:30 a.m. when the man walked out of the house, still firing, and one of the law enforcement agencies at the scene shot him.
Police said the man went to the hospital and they're grateful no one else was injured.
"Anytime you have an incident like this where shots are being fired and gunfire is involved, the fact that no officers were injured is, you know, amazing," said Bixby Police Chief Todd Blish.
Police said they don't know where the suspect was shot or who shot him.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is handling the case.
