Description
An Italian staple, great dinner for the family.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (85% fat)
- 1 pound ground pork
- ½ red pepper, diced
- 1 white onion, diced
- ½ yellow pepper, diced
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, ¼ inch cubes
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Prep: Spray a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Prep: In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients except for the marinara sauce. Do not “over mix” the meat mixture. It will make for a tough meat loaf.
- Combine: Pour the marinara sauce into the prepared loaf pan.
- Combine: Press the meat into the loaf pan.
- Cook: Set the loaf pan on a baking sheet and put into oven to bake for 45-60 minutes.
- Cook: The meatloaf is done once it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
- cool: Remove from the oven and carefully invert onto a serving platter.
