Following months of back-and-forth over a location for a new Oklahoma County Jail, the Oklahoma City Planning Commission is meeting to vote on giving the selected site the green light.

The new location in the southeastern area of Oklahoma City is only 800 feet from Del City limits, and was selected by City Commissioners back in February.

The City of Del City has previously said it's waiting for the results of Thursday's zoning vote before taking legal action.

"We’re going to hit every button we can hit," Del City Mayor Floyd Eason said. "We’re fighting this thing like our lives are depend on it because they do."

If the zoning is approved, it will then go before the Oklahoma City Council and Mayor David Holt for a final decision.

Those votes could happen as soon as May or June.
