Man Assaulted, Robbed At Oklahoma City Motel

A man was robbed and attacked with a hatchet outside of a motel near MacArthur Boulevard and Interstate 40. Police are still searching for one of two suspects.

Oklahoma City Police say they responded to the Green Carpet Inn Friday night. When officers arrived, the victim was in the lobby, laying on the ground in a pool of his blood with an arterial bleed.

The victim told police he was attacked by two men. They demand his phone, money and car keys.

“One was armed with a hatchet or a hammer. The other was armed with a pistol,” police said. “Before he could do anything, the one with the hatchet or the hammer struck him over the head.

The victim admitted that he had taken meth prior to the robbery, police say.

Witnesses told police they saw two men run into a nearby hotel room after the assault. When police went to the room, they took one suspect into custody, Tony Givens.

The other suspect is still outstanding and the victim is expected to recover.
