Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond is asking the US Supreme Court to halt the execution of Oklahoma Death Row inmate Richard Glossip.
In a brief filed by Drummond, he calls the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals' decision to uphold Glossip's conviction in 2023 a "remarkable and remarkably flawed decision."
Glossip, who has long maintained his innocence, is sitting on Death Row after being convicted in the murder-for-hire plot of Barry Van Treese in 1997.
Drummond said there's evidence the other man charged in the crime, Justin Sneed, lied in court, and that prosecutors knew about it.
Drummond is asking that Glossip's case be sent back to district court.
