Authorities arrested a man accused of abusing and killing a 5-week-old in 2023, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Xavien Hogan was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Texas for a first-degree murder by child abuse warrant issued by OKCPD.
In October of 2023, officers responded to a call to an apartment complex in south Oklahoma City on a report of an infant suffering a medical episode, according to OKCPD.
A five-week-old boy was taken to a hospital where he was found to have injuries consistent with child abuse.
The baby succumbed to those injuries five days later.
An investigation by Crimes Against Children Investigators revealed the child had been in the care of 24-year-old Hogan.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide in April, and recently, an arrest warrant was issued for Hogan.
Members of the US Marshal’s Service arrested him Thursday in east Texas.
