Just as crews finish work on the southbound lanes of I-235 at I-40, crews are preparing to work 24/7 beginning Tuesday night on the northbound lanes of I-235 at I-40.

Drivers will be the most impacted from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning around the Dallas Junction. Northbound I-235 will be narrowed to two lanes from Southeast 15th to Lincoln Blvd. Come Wednesday morning, crews will be able to open some off-ramps. However, northbound I-235 will still be narrowed to 2 lanes.

Crews are working to rehab bridges over Reno Avenue, the Union Pacific Railroad, and Sheridan Avenue.

“This is going to cause significant backups. We saw significant backups on the southern I-235, and we are expecting this to be worse,” said Bryce Boyer with ODOT. “Find an alternative route if you can. If you usually take I-40, take I-240.”

If you usually take I-235, try I-35 or I-44 as alternative routes. Work on the northbound lanes will continue until July.
