A Norman man was arrested after allegedly shooting a motorist during a possible road rage incident, police say.

It happened last week in a busy area of southeast Oklahoma City.

911: A male pulled up in a vehicle at the Phillips 66, said he was shot in the head.

Despite the seriousness of his injury, police said the victim was able to pull into a gas station parking lot where he called 911.

The victim would later tell investigators he was he was southbound on Interstate 35 near Southeast 44th, when "he cut off" a "maroon, Ford, four-door vehicle."

The victim told officers "This upset the driver of the car," who police later identified as Jesus Flores.

The victim said he exited the highway--as Flores followed him, "pulled up next to him," "pointed a pistol," and "fired multiple times."

Police reviewed nearby cameras that they said helped lead them to Flores' apartment in Norman.

Court filings reveal the victim identified Flores as the gunman in a photo line-up.

When questioned, police said Flores "confessed to the shooting," and told detectives "where he hid the firearm."

According to police, Flores has multiple felony convictions out of California including one for kidnapping.

Flores remains jailed in the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He is awaiting formal charges.
