Oklahoma City police arrested a suspect on Wednesday after he led allegedly officers and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers on a pursuit after a shooting. The pursuit ended on the northwest side of the city.

Officers also arrested the victim after he showed up a local hospital. Police said 27-year-old Javier Boykins was treated and released for gunshot injuries, then arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.

Police were called around 3 a.m. to investigate multiple shots fired at an apartment complex near Northwest 118th Street and Western Avenue.

“When officers get there, they see a car speeding away,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police said James Harper, 25, refused to stop for police and started a pursuit. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was called to assist in the pursuit.

“Apparently got to the point where at TVI maneuver had to be performed,” said Knight.

Harper's SUV came to a stop near Northwest 63rd Street and Interstate 235. News 9 was there as police took the shooting suspect into custody on the side of the highway.

Meanwhile, Boykins showed up at Mercy Hospital with several gunshot injuries to a leg.

“He was not forthcoming with information,” said Knight. “So, right now investigators are trying to piece together why everyone out there was shooting or at least why one person was shooting.”

Police said Harper threw a gun out of his car during the pursuit. That gun and an extended magazine were recovered during the investigation.
