Tulsa Co. Sheriff's Vehicle Transporting Inmates Involved In Oklahoma City Crash

A vehicle containing nine inmates from the Tulsa County Jail was involved in a crash on Friday in Oklahoma City.

A vehicle belonging to the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office was involved in a crash Friday morning in Oklahoma City, according to police.

Two vehicles from the Tulsa County Sheriff were carrying a total of 16 prisoners from the Tulsa County Jail to a facility in Lexington when one of the vehicles was struck by another car along Interstate 35 near Southeast Grand Boulevard.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the vehicle was struck while trying to exit the highway, and the two vehicles collectively exited the interstate and parked along I-35 Service Road.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said the vehicle that was struck contained nine inmates, and OHP was called to assist to ensure all were accounted for.

There were no injuries.
