Ardmore To Host Hiring Event Following Severe Damage And Closing Of Marietta Dollar Tree Facility

In response to April storms that devastated the Dollar Tree distribution center in Marietta, organizers of a hiring event in Ardmore are hoping to assist affected employees with finding new places of work.

Over 20 employers and 15 community resources and services will be at the Ardmore Convention Center for a hiring event on Tuesday.

Organizers for Tuesday's hiring event, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission and the Southern Workforce Board, said it will help many in the area, including those in Marietta, which was devastated by storms in April and is just south of Ardmore.

Of the many structures destroyed by those storms, the Dollar Tree distribution center in the town, which was home to hundreds of employees.

Organizers say the event, officially titled the Dollar Tree Distribution Center Rapid Response and Hiring Fair Event, will aim to find new places of employment for those workers.

The event will begin at 9 a.m., and will run until 4 p.m.

There will be five sessions interchanging between English and Spanish.
