It was a big day for Sooner Nation as the University of Oklahoma began a new era in the SEC.

OU has been celebrating the change since 11 p.m. last night- keeping the momentum going with multiple events today.

News 9's Chris Williams was live in Norman where the excitement just keeps building.

The welcome to the SEC hasn't been easy, but SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey says OU isn't a new member. OU is just a member.

"I think you use the word, seamless. The creativity of our fan base on social media is on full display today and I think that Oklahoma and Texas are getting treated as the past 14 members you'll see both the warm and the cold embrace that can be present and that is in many ways who we are," Sankey said.
