McLoud Blackberry Festival Kicks Off July 12

The longest running food related festival in Oklahoma is kicking off soon. The McLoud Blackberry Festival starts July 12.

Melanie Krause, with the festival, stopped by News 9’s Coca Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to talk about the history of the Blackberry Festival and what attendees can expect from this event. 

“The Blackberry Festival is a decades-long tradition in McLoud where we celebrate the history of being named the blackberry capital of the world,” said Krause. 

The festival will have over 50 blackberry related food options. Some of the foods you can expect from the event are blackberry infused barbeque sauce, blackberry hot honey, and blackberry jam. 

At the festival attendees can expect food vendors, crafts, a parade and a pageant. There will also be a firework show at 10 p.m. during the festival. 

The event will be at McLoud Veterans Memorial Park and starts at 5 p.m. July 12 and all day July 13.
