A nonprofit dedicated to first responders paid off a mortgage belonging to the family of fallen Edmond police Sgt. CJ Nelson.

A nonprofit that helps first responders is honoring the family of a fallen Edmond Police officer by paying off their mortgage.

Edmond Police Sgt. CJ Nelson was hit and killed while on his patrol motorcycle in 2022 along Broadway Extension.

The Edmond Police Department said the Tunnels to Towers Foundation paid off the Nelson family's mortgage.

"By paying off their mortgage, we bring them peace of mind and a bright future," the foundation said.
