The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City is preparing to host celebrations commemorating the history of cowboys.
The National Day of the Cowboy, which falls on the fourth Saturday in July, is set for July 27, 2024. Ahead of that date however, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum has been hard at work preparing for the big day.
The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch travelled to the museum to see what they have in store for guests.
Seth Spillman, the chief managing officer of the museum, said the celebration goes back decades.
"This is a celebration that's been going on for a couple decades now, and it's just a great way to celebrate all things cowboy," Spillman said. "We're going to have the usual things that you can experience here at the museum, plus lots of activities and games."
In addition to the slate of activities, Spillman said the museum will also feature famous cowboy chef Kent Rollins, who will give two presentations on Saturday: one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
