A Fort Gibson woman is checking things off her bucket list.

A big checkmark came last week when she traveled to Boston for a game at Fenway Park.

While sitting on her porch, Dana Westbrook dreams of places far away from her home. Places she adds to her bucket list, which she started two years ago in honor of her husband.

"He lived life to the fullest, and it rubbed off on me,” Westbrook said. “After he died, it was pretty devastating, and my three boys were like, Mom, this is what dad would want, and everything I do, I do it in honor of him."

She just checked off a big one from her list.

“To see the Yankees, the Red Sox at Fenway Park," Westbrook said.

Westbrook brought her sister with her, and the two came away from the game with a big memento, a ball. But not just a souvenir baseball.

"We were just in shock,” Westbrook said. “We couldn't believe that that had happened."

Aaron Judge, the star of the Yankees, hit the ball, which soared 470 feet for a homerun.

"They made a point to say the area of which we were was right underneath the scoreboard and it was of course 37 feet high, but it was a narrow opening and not a lot of balls get hit in that spot,” Westbrook said.

The ball landed right near Westbrook's feet.

"It falls right between the two of us and we just fall down onto the ball, so I didn't technically catch the ball, but it was a close second,” Westbrook said.

Once the ball was in their possession, many fans approached them offering to buy it. They were offered five thousand dollars and enough money to cover the cost of their entire trip.

But money can't replace this memory. This ball keeps her dreaming of adventure- It's what her husband would want.

"He would say, 'Only you, Dana, only you,'" Westbrook said.
