A Tulsa man, Bogi Maxwell, was initially charged with murder in Sapulpa, but the charge was later dropped. Maxwell is now facing a charge of accessory to murder in a separate case in Tulsa.
Police say Maxwell was the getaway driver in a homicide that occurred on July 2 at 4420 North Main.
The victim, Travis Watson, was shot and killed. Maxwell was one of three people present at the scene and was involved in disposing of the murder weapon and dumping the vehicle in Turley. The shooter and another person involved in the case are in custody.
On July 4, a separate murder took place in Sapulpa. A murder warrant was initially issued for Maxwell, but it was dismissed after police realized he was not involved in that case.
Records show that in October 2019, Maxwell was convicted of three counts of aggravated assault and battery for shooting into a car, hitting one person, and assaulting someone in jail. He was sentenced to five years of probation.
Maxwell’s bond in the accessory to murder case was set at $10,000. He bonded out two days ago.
