A Stillwater couple is asking the Tulsa community for help after a sentimental package was stolen from a UPS truck.
Kathryn and Cole Bailey have been married for just over 2 years now. Kathryn designed her own ring and sent it off for work, but she didn't realize she'd never see it again.
“We are looking at a photo of right when he was proposing,” said Kathryn Bailey as she and her husband, Cole, went through photos on her laptop.
The proposal is a moment couples remember forever.
“I was shocked. I was so shocked. I had no idea, I had absolutely no idea,” Kathryn said.
For the Baileys, that moment was the start of their forever, with a ring she had been dreaming of — a black moissanite stone.
“It was like oh my gosh that's the exact ring, I think I said that, Oh my gosh you got the ring,” Kathryn said.
But after having their first child in February of 2024, she took her ring to Kay Jewelers to have it resized.
“So that was probably about two weeks ago, and they sent it off, and then on Monday evening I got a phone call from the store,” said Kathryn.
Her ring was stolen from a UPS truck in Tulsa.
“We could easily go buy another ring, but it's the sentimental part of that ring,” said Cole.
Since then, the store has offered to replace Kathryn's ring.
“At this point, we're not worried about price, we can get you the exact same look, OK that's amazing,” Kathryn said on the phone with the jeweler.
She's thankful to get a new ring, even if it wasn't the one from the moment she would always remember.
“At the end of the day, it really is just a piece of jewelry. It doesn't change our lives; it doesn't change the fact that we're still married. The whole point of it is to symbolize our marriage and our relationship, and that's still here and nothing's changed there,” she said.
The Baileys ask if anybody sees the ring posted on a resale site somewhere or in any type of store, that they would help them get it back. The couple is offering a $500 reward to anyone who finds it. They say you can contact them on Facebook if you find the ring.
