After losing to OSU on Saturday 45-10, Kevin Wilson and the Golden Hurricane will go back on the road to face Louisiana Tech this Saturday.
Tulsa struggled against the passing attack from the Cowboys but did a good job of shutting down the OSU running game.
After the game, Kevin Wilson was happy with his team's effort against a really good team but knows they have to find a way to improve.
“Gave up some easy plays in pass defense,” he said. “They’ve got a really good team, their receivers are really big, they’re stout, they’re strong. The quarterback has played a long time, and played really well. We gave up too many pass plays.”
Wilson on Monday emphasized continuing to play the younger players on his team. A total of 67 guys played for TU with as many as nine true freshmen getting snaps toward the end of the game.
The experience will go a long way in playing against an opponent like OSU in the environment that was created at Chapman Stadium on Saturday.
“We gave up four or five huge pass plays,” said Wilson. “You take those out and the game looks a little different and you can say you hung with them, but nah. When you score one touchdown you are not going to win a football game. You cannot win football games if you cannot score 30 points.”
