Sixty-four Oklahoma veterans took an all-expenses-paid flight Tuesday morning to visit war memorials in Washington, D.C.

"Oklahoma Warriors" sponsors the honor flights every year to give back to those who gave to our country.

Veterans from across Oklahoma who served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam were on the trip.

Pat Schoonover, an Oklahoma veteran, said, "It exemplifies what our freedom is all about, it's about coming together and doin what we have to do to protect our freedom and each other."

The veterans left Tuesday morning and will return to Tulsa around 8:30 p.m.
