Controlled Burn Planned At Tulsa Botanic Garden To Help Restore Ecosystem

Smoke may be visible near the Gilcrease Expressway and North 41st Street on Wednesday as the Tulsa Botanic Garden conducts a controlled burn.

Starting at 10 a.m., the garden will burn approximately 19 acres of tallgrass prairie in the Cross Timbers area.

This marks the first time the garden has implemented a controlled burn, which is designed to help restore local ecosystems.
