Broken Arrow police are honoring Chief Brandon Berryhill as he retires after 30 years of service with the department.

Berryhill, who moved to Broken Arrow in 1994, has witnessed significant growth in both the city and the police department during his tenure.

“It’s one thing to come and go and look at it from a distance... but to be there from the beginning and see it go from something small to the third-largest department in the state is pretty satisfying,” he said.

Berryhill’s last day with the department is Oct. 31. The following day, he will begin a new role teaching criminal justice at Northeastern State University’s Broken Arrow campus.
