After an impressive start to the season, Oklahoma center Raegan Beers earned multiple prestigious weekly honors, as announced by several publications on Tuesday.

The junior All-American was named the Associated Press National Player of the Week, and Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, and earned a spot on the USBWA National Starting Five for the Week.

Beers is the first Oklahoma women’s basketball player to receive an SEC weekly award and the first Sooner since Courtney Paris to earn a national Player of the Week accolade. This marks Beers’ seventh weekly honor, following six Pac-12 Player/Freshman of the Week awards she earned during her time at Oregon State.

The No. 9-ranked Sooners opened their season with two dominant wins, including a 44-point victory over Virginia. Beers posted back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 23.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting an impressive 70.4% from the field and 50.0% from three-point range. She became the first Sooner since Courtney Paris to record consecutive 20-point, 14-rebound games and surpassed 1,000 career points in the win over Virginia. Heading into Week 2 of the 2024-25 season, Beers is the only player in the SEC ranked in the top five for both points and rebounds per game.

Alongside Beers on the USBWA National Starting Five are Destiny Adams (Rutgers), Diamond Johnson (Norfolk State), Lauren Betts (UCLA), and Olivia Miles (Notre Dame).

In addition to these honors, Beers was also named to the 15-player watch list for the prestigious Wade Trophy, given to the nation’s top player.

With Beers leading the way, Oklahoma moved up to No. 9 in the AP Top 25, marking the program’s highest ranking since finishing No. 4 in 2009. The Sooners’ current streak of 10 consecutive appearances in the rankings is the ninth-longest in school history.
