We're hearing from the mother of an 11-year-old girl who was shot in the leg when two groups shot at each other outside her house.
Tulsa Police say the shooting happened Monday afternoon near 46th Street North and MLK Boulevard.
They say two groups of teen boys started shooting at each other and a bullet went into the house, where 11-year-old June was in and hit her in the leg.
The girl's mother spoke with News On 6, but did not want to show her face for her own safety.
"First time we heard it, I didn't think anything of it. Then I hear 'ow.' Okay, that wasn't just a random gunshot,” she said. “Me and my husband all but break down our bedroom door. Gunshots are still going off. I know there are at least three that came in; my husband and I both start yelling 'get down' as I'm getting down. He runs into the kitchen because June isn't understanding get down, and he has to tackle her to the ground."
There is a GoFundMe set up to help with June's medical bills here.
Tulsa Police have not made any arrests in the case.
