Oklahoma Man Crowned Karaoke World Champion: Now Helping Other Singers

You could say he was born to sing.

“I’ve done the voice. I’ve done American Idol back in the day,” said Duncan Wallace of Wall2Wall Productions.

Wallace, however, found his passion in singing karaoke, but then he learned about the International Karaoke Federation, a competition for the top karaoke singers held in Las Vegas.

“And to say that you can sing on the strip, I mean how cool is that to be able to say that,” said Wallace.

To get to Vegas, Wallace would have to qualify through the state competition, and there was not an Oklahoma chapter, so he auditioned through Texas, and he won.

“There were thousands of people who tried to qualify throughout the entire competition, they only took the top 125 people to Vegas,” said Wallace.

Wallace not only made it to Vegas, but he also won the entire competition. Making him the world champion.

“You know Oklahoma is full of incredible singers,” said Wallace

Through his win he automatically qualified for this year’s competition, but his heart was to help other Oklahoma singers compete in the competition.

So, this year he’s coaching multiple singers for the huge opportunity.

“We’re talking senior cast producers for The Voice, American Idol,” said Wallace.

The state qualifying competition will be sometime around September, and Wallace would like nothing more than to crown an Oklahoman as this year’s winner.

“It would mean, I had that opportunity to bless somebody else and pay it forward and that kind of what this is all about,”
