OCDC Detainee Dies After Medical Episode

A detainee at the Oklahoma County Detention Center died Wednesday after a medical episode, according to officials.

The Oklahoma County Detention Center said an officer discovered Vincent Burke, 42, in need of medical attention during a site check on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Burke was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Officials said Burke had been booked into the jail on Jan. 7 on a felony warrant for DUI causing great bodily injury. His bond was set at $5,000.

OCDC says the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
