Upward Transitions, an organization dedicated to providing assistance to vulnerable Oklahomans, is celebrating its 100th year of service with a series of events throughout 2025.

The celebration includes monthly events, starting with Citation Day at the Oklahoma Capitol and open houses at the organization’s offices. The highlight of the year will be the annual fundraising gala, American Tourist, scheduled for May 9 at the Skirvin Hotel. This year’s event will feature a 1925-inspired Great Gatsby theme. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and Upward Transitions encourages past supporters to join in the festivities.

Another major initiative for the centennial is a campaign to raise $1 million for the organization’s endowment. Dubbed “Endowing a Second Century of Hope,” the effort aims to secure a sustainable income source for future operations.

Other fundraising efforts include the annual campaign, where letters are sent to supporters asking for donations, and Celebrity Wait Night in July. The latter features local celebrities, including former OU and OSU athletes, waiting tables to raise tips for the organization.
