Incidents involving semi-trucks have caused significant slowdowns, raising concerns about hazardous conditions that put drivers near stopped vehicles at risk.

Many cars in the metro have been seen Monday morning with their hazard lights blinking. "If someone puts their hazards on, they're trying to alert other drivers that there could be an unforeseen circumstance ahead," Cox said.

The weather has strained OHP resources statewide, particularly in the northern and northeastern regions. Drivers should remain prepared, aware, and cautious of both road hazards and other drivers..

"Whether it be snow or ice, the roadways are very dangerous right now," Cox said. "If you do not have to be on them, it is highly recommended to stay home."
