Chase involving stolen vehicle ends in crash with dump truck in Mustang

A police chase in Mustang ended in a crash Tuesday afternoon after officers pursued a stolen pickup truck.

According to Mustang police, officers spotted a truck that had been reported stolen out of Tuttle. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver took off, leading to a pursuit.

The chase ended at the intersection of Southwest 44th Street and South Czech Hall Road when the suspect crashed into a dump truck. Fire crews had to extricate the suspect from the vehicle before they were transported by EMS in an unknown condition. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The roadway remained closed as investigators worked the scene. Mustang police said they investigate any pursuit that results in a crash, while Oklahoma City police are handling the crash investigation.
