Thousands without power in Oklahoma after early morning severe storms

Nearly 20,000 power outages were reported in Oklahoma after severe storms blew through the state Monday night and early Tuesday morning. Most of the outages are in Pontotoc County.

More than 20,000 power outages were reported in Oklahoma after severe storms blew through the state Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

As of 1:09 a.m., 16,307 customers were without power, according to https://poweroutage.us/area/state/oklahoma 

Most outages are in Pontotoc County, where 5,817 customers are without power.

Tornado-warned storms moved through south Oklahoma early Tuesday morning, causing damage in Pontotoc County. 

Ada public schools closed Tuesday due to the weather. Meteorologist Lacey Swope said at least one school building in Ada is damaged.
