Tulsa finishes the season 13-20 after loss to North Texas

The University of Tulsa men's basketball team ended its season with a 77-59 loss to No. 2 North Texas in the quarterfinals of the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship on Friday night.

Tulsa finishes the season 13-20, while North Texas advances to the semifinals. Keaston Willis led Tulsa with 20 points, going 11-of-11 from the free-throw line, tying a program record. He also hit three 3-pointers, finishing his career with 93 made triples, tying the single-season record. Braeden Carrington added 18 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Dwon Odom contributed seven points, five assists, and four steals, ending the season with 177 assists, the third-most in a single season at Tulsa.

Tulsa led 31-26 at halftime but struggled in the second half, shooting just 29.2% from the floor and 28% from three-point range. North Texas shot 63% in the second half, including 54.5% from beyond the arc, and was led by Atin Wright’s 24 points. Tulsa shot 84.6% from the free-throw line, hitting 22 of 26 attempts.
