FEMA: Fire Management Assistance Grants secured for 13 counties

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved the state's request for 13 Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAGs).

FEMA will provide aid in the form of reimbursements for local governments, volunteer fire departments and other first responders in regards to costs associated with responding to the wildfires across the state.

The FMAG authorization can payback up to 75 percent of costs to state, local and tribal governments to cover eligible firefighting costs for the designated fires.

The grants are authorized for the following fires and counties:

1. 840 Road Fire – Leedey, Roger Mills County
2. Stillwater Fire – Stillwater, Payne County
3. Luther Fire – Luther/Arcadia/Edmond, Oklahoma County
4. East Thunderbird Fire – Little Axe/Norman, Cleveland County
5. Little Salt Creek Fire – Mannford, Creek County
6. Chandler Fire – Chandler, Lincoln County
7. Logan County Fire – Guthrie, Logan County
8. Wildhorse Fire – Velma, Stephens County
9. Clear Pond Fire – Bethel Acres/Shawnee, Pottawatomie County
10. Underwood Fire – Yale / Cushing, Payne County
11. Keystone Fire – Osage, Pawnee County
12. Barn Fire – Cleveland, Pawnee County
13. Norge Fire – Chickasha, Grady County
