The Langston Farmers Market has been converted into a supply distribution center for wildfire victims in one of the areas hardest hit by this week's fires. Aid is focused on Logan County residents, including those who live in Langston, Coyle, Meridian and Guthrie.
Supplies are being delivered by semi-trucks from World Vision, an interdenominational humanitarian aid organization. One shipment arrived from Chicago and another is on its way from Dallas. Items available for pickup include blankets, sleeping bags, food and essentials for children.
Officials say Logan County has seen approximately 110 homes destroyed and 33,000 acres burned. Some fires are still active at the time of writing, but are claimed by Logan Co. Emergency Management to be under control.
