The Super Duper Art Show program will begin this summer, which will offer participants the opportunity to explore comic book storytelling, panel storytelling, and superhero themes. The program will be available at summer camps, libraries, and daycares.
Izzy Kiehl, a representative for Finer Arts of Oklahoma, joined the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch on Tuesday to discuss the upcoming program.
We're focusing a lot on things that you find in comic books. The panel storytelling, the sequential storytelling, putting art and words together to tell a story, and fun things like onomatopoeias and why superheroes will wear masks and capes. You know, underwear on the outside of their uniforms. And we're also talking about, like, anime and Egyptian storytelling, going into the different cultures. It's a lot of fun. You get to explore a lot of characters and a lot of fun literary devices.
So we're doing it this summer. We have summer camps, we're going to libraries, and we can go to daycares. It's all up to you. Whenever you want to do it, you can call us and check it out.
The creator of Finer Arts of Oklahoma, he has worked with Mad Science for the past 10 years. He has an actual degree in acting. He just loves all this kind of stuff, and he saw that there wasn't much in terms of after-school programs or library programs that had stuff about the arts. And since, you know, like Da Vinci, science and art can go hand in hand, right? So he just kind of dreamt that up and started doing it.
