U.S. border agents fired tear gas on hundreds of migrants protesting near the border with Mexico on Sunday after some of them attempted to get through the fencing and wire separating the two countries, and American authorities temporarily shut down border crossings from the city where thousands are waiting to apply for asylum. 

The part of the country famous for its "Tornado Alley" may be in jeopardy of losing that distinction. 

An Oklahoma City police officer is recovering after being rear-ended overnight.  Police said the officer responded to an early wreck between Southwest 149th Street and Southwest 134th Street when another driver crashed into the back of his patrol car. Both, the officer and the driver, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Officers said the driver was intoxicated. The officer was later released from the hospital.

Federal authorities allege that a former youth care worker at a Phoenix-area facility for immigrant youths sexually abused eight teenage boys, one of several cases brought to light in recent weeks as thousands of immigrant children remain detained around the country.

A late night argument near Southwest 19th and Grand Boulevard landed one woman in the hospital.

Crews are responding to a commercial fire in southwest Oklahoma City, Thursday.
