The Garfield County district attorney has filed more charges against a 22-year-old Oklahoma man accused of sexually abusing a baby.
Enid police said the suspect, Brice Watkins, is on-the-run and they need the public's help finding him.
Police said the victim was less than 1-year-old and lived in Enid at the time of the alleged crimes.
They added they discovered Watkins was molesting the child after video evidence was turned over to Norman police by a witness.
“I am relying on people from the community in the state, if they find him or see him to report it to law enforcement,” said Det. Tanner Austin, of Enid Police.
August 11, court documents report a person walked into the Norman Police Department and showed officers a video of Watkins touching the child, taking pictures of her and even attempting to have sex with her.
Watkins is accused of sending the video through Facebook messenger to one of his friends.
Multiple witnesses, including the victim’s mother, confirmed Watkins preyed upon the baby in the child’s own home.
Police said he was close to the victim and her family.
“The information I got is that he was a close family friend and baby sitter at the time the incident occurred,” said Austin.
Norman police thought they spotted Watkins and tried to arrest him, but said he took off running.
When officers caught the suspect, it turned out to be someone else, and so the search for the suspect continues.
“A child like this...She can't tell her story because she is too young. So, it's our job to get justice for this young girl,” said Austin.
Watkins is charged with manufacturing child pornography and three counts of lewd acts with a child.
We're told the baby is safe and is recovering.
