The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a multi-vehicle accident killed three people and put another person in critical condition Friday morning.
The accident was reported just after 6 a.m. at U.S. Highway 177 (also known as State Highway 59) and East 1350 Road in Pottawatomie County.
Authorities said one vehicle, a Nissan, traveled northbound on U.S. Highway 177 while another, a Honda, traveled southbound. OHP said the northbound vehicle went left of center and collided with the southbound vehicle head-on.
The Nissan then halfway rolled over, landed in a ditch and caught fire. Both unidentified males, the driver of the Nissan and his passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 55-year-old James Cravens of Shawnee, was also pronounced dead. Two passengers, a 54-year-old woman and 16-year-old male juvenile, were transported to OU Medical Center.
The male juvenile is in critical condition while the woman remains hospitalized.
