Noble Man Drowns In Lake Thunderbird, Troopers Say

A Noble man drowned Thursday at Lake Thunderbird, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

The drowning happened about 3:55 p.m. Thursday at Lake Thunderbird State Park in Norman.

Michael Taliaferro, 25, of Noble, was swimming with a swim aid.

Troopers said Taliaferro was not confident in his swimming ability and the swim aid got away from him.

He tried to retrieve the swim aid and went under. He resurfaced once before not resurfacing again, troopers said.
